“Victory” will increase the price of baggage

Representatives of “Victory” say that the promotional fare gave the opportunity to carry luggage at a reduced price to customers who paid for services on the airline’s website. It could cover a limited number of baggage items.

 

We wanted to encourage customers to come to our website for the lowest prices, so we introduced a 10kg promotional fare. Obviously, a promotional tariff cannot be offered without restrictions. But each family that made a flight with one reservation had the opportunity to pay for baggage at a promotional fare.”

 

FAS demanded the air carrier to stop imposing unfavorable conditions on consumers, obliging to ensure the registration of luggage space up to 10 kg at the appropriate tariff for each passenger within one booking. In case of failure to comply with this warning, the FAS promised to initiate an antimonopoly case against the airline.

 

“The low-cost airline Pobeda, which is part of the Aeroflot group, has been forced to increase the minimum fare for 10 kg of luggage from 499 rubles to 777 rubles since September 4, 2018,” the airline said.

 

"Aeroflot" may also introduce paid services - obliges to pay for the choice of seats on the plane. This is one of the measures of Aeroflot among the paid services that it intends to introduce “in order to combat the growing costs of the company.” On-board meals and road kits can also be optimised.

 

The airline says the proposal has not yet been approved. If it is introduced, it will affect the rates “Promo” and “Budget”, their rules and currently do not give the opportunity to choose seats for registration.
