Why is vacation in Turkey cheaper?
Purchase of a ticket to Turkey "last minute" this summer proved in many cases more profitable than early booking in winter or spring. This was announced by the director of the tour operator Fun & Sun Vladimir Rubtsov.
According to the expert, the fall in prices at the height of the season is due to several factors. First of all, it is the decline of the dollar from 90 rubles in March to 78 rubles in July, as well as the Iran-Israel conflict.
Demand for tours to Turkey this summer was high due to the favorable exchange rate of the ruble against the euro and the dollar.
Another factor contributing to the decline in prices was the Iran-Israel conflict. Due to flight restrictions, many Europeans have refused to visit the Middle East, including Turkey.
Thus, the traditional annual increase in prices by Turkish hoteliers in foreign currency this summer was partially offset by the strengthening of the ruble, and discounts and promotions even led to a decrease in ruble prices for vacations.
As for the overall demand for vacations in Turkey among Russians, Rubtsov noted that in his company, Turkey accounts for 56% of all summer sales, which is 25% more compared to last year. August has already sold out by more than 80%.
Good dynamics is observed in the velvet season: the load of flights for September-October is about 50%. If “nothing global will happen”, by the autumn these figures, according to Rubtsov, will grow significantly.
