Moscow-Cairo flights will begin in the second half of February

The opening of regular flights between Russia and Egypt should take place from the second half of February 2018. This was stated by the Minister of transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov.

On December 15, 2017, Sokolov and the head of the Egyptian aviation ministry, Sherif Fathi, prepared a document in Moscow on joint work in the field of civil aviation security, which is needed to resume flights between the states. Recently, it was reported that the opening of charter flights between Russia and Egypt will be discussed in the spring.

Egypt was able to carry out serious work on security measures at its capital airport after the disruption of air traffic with Russia due to the crash over Sinai of the Kogalymavia plane, which was flying Sharm el-Sheikh - St. Petersburg.
