Russian Ambassador to Egypt explained the situation with charter flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh
Charter flights from Russia to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada will certainly be resumed, but it is difficult to specify specific dates. This was stated by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Egypt Sergey Kirpichenko.
The diplomat said that "the issue is serious and breaks down into many technical aspects."
Asked if direct flights to the Red Sea resorts will be open before the end of 2018, Mr. Kirpichenko said that there are not even approximate dates yet. In the autumn of this year, new inspections of Egyptian airports will be held by Russian specialists on the security measures introduced.
Charter flights between the cities of Russia with Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh were stopped in 2015 after the Kogalymavia plane crash. Currently, only regular flights from Moscow to Cairo are open.
