Czech government welcomes guests
Strakova Academy until recently was one of the few closed sights of Prague, but now it is not, and the residence of the Czech government opened its doors to everyone. The building, built in the late 19th century, is designed in the Neo-Baroque style. Such an unusual name Strakova akademie was given thanks to Count Petr Straka, who lived in Nedabylice and bequeathed almost all his fortune to build an academy where children from ruined noble families could study. It is noteworthy that during the Second World War, the building became a temporary refuge of the Nazi court. Strakova Academy is located on the banks of the Vltava, in the area of Mala Strana. It is open to visitors from 10.00 to 16.00. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely go there, especially since an exhibition dedicated to communist Czechoslovakia is now being held in the government building.
