The government will determine the countries from which tourists will come to Russia on a six-month visa
The Russian Foreign Ministry will draft a bill by March to empower the government to determine the list of countries whose citizens can be issued a tourist visa on the basis of hotel reservations.
In the plan of legislative activities of the government for 2022, it is reported: “On amendments to article 256 of the federal law “On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation” (in terms of empowering the government of the Russian Federation to approve the list of countries whose citizens can be issued a tourist visa on the basis of confirmation of booking a place in a hotel)”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry will submit the bill to the government no later than March 2022 and to the State Duma no later than September.
We are talking about the decree on the rules for issuing visas for foreign tourists, adopted in September 2021.
The visa can be single or double entry for up to 3 months or multiple for up to 6 months.
The total period of stay of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation on a multiple-entry visa is established when issuing a visa by an authorized state body, but not more than 90 days during each period of 180 days.
