The Russian government should assess the safety of flights to the UAE, Israel, Egypt, Oman, Jordan

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev instructed to assess the safety of civilian flights of Russian airlines in the Persian and Oman Gulfs, as well as the safety of tourists in the countries of the region - the UAE, Israel, Oman, Egypt, Jordan.

Oleg Osipov, spokesman for the head of the Russian government:
Dmitry Medvedev instructed Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich and Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin to assess the safety of flights and tourism in the Middle East region, the Persian and Oman Gulfs region, taking into account recent events there.

Medvedev instructed to prepare proposals to ensure the safety of Russian tourists in these countries, taking into account different scenarios.

On January 3, Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was assassinated.
On Tuesday night, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) fired missiles at U.S. military bases Ain al-Assad in western Iraq and Erbil in northern Iraq.

Trump promised to give an answer in the morning, i.e. Moscow time – Wednesday evening. In response to his promise, the IRGC said that if U.S. fighter jets lifted from an air base in the UAE to strike Iran, the target of Iranian retaliation would be Dubai in the UAE, and Tel Aviv and Haifa in Israel. If there is an attack, the Emirates will say goodbye to their economy and their tourism.

Additional tension was added by the crash of the Ukrainian plane on January 8, which occurred immediately after takeoff from Tehran. Preliminary reasons are the engine fire, but there are also the most incredible versions, including the revenge of Iran, since most of the passengers of the crashed airliner are citizens of Western countries.
