Prime Minister Mishustin banned Chinese citizens from entering Russia

The border is locked only from the Chinese: due to the coronavirus epidemic, the new Prime Minister of Russia decided to act ahead and completely banned any Chinese as a potential carrier of the coronavirus from entering Russia starting from 00 hours on February 20 (Thursday).

The ban applies to all Chinese – regardless of the purpose of the visit – for private visits, coming to study, work or for tourist purposes.

In China, organized tourist groups were forbidden to leave the country, but individual tourists were not restricted, and they were still found in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

About the order of Mikhail Mishustin told reporters in the Secretariat of Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova following a meeting of the operational headquarters to combat coronavirus infection. Simultaneously with the ban, the reception of documents, registration and issuance of invitations to enter Russia for any Chinese citizens will be temporarily stopped.
