World Travel Awards: What awards did Russians receive?
Several nominations of the prestigious World Travel Awards “got” resorts Russia.
Among the nominees was the hotel Mriya Resort & Spa in Yalta, which was able to win in several nominations – the best resort, a family resort with villas and a luxury resort with villas. The hotel was recognized for the first time as the world's best holiday resort complex.
“Territorial affiliation” of the resort by the organizers of the competition is not indicated.
According to the general manager of the resort Samvel Sarukhanyan, Russians often rest at the resort, but there are guests from other countries: Ukraine, Syria, Belarus, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic.
In November, the operator of the hotel Mriya Resort & SPA – “Garant-SV” and the complex itself came under US sanctions, which are related to the annexation of Crimea and the situation in the Donbass.
The management of the hotel said that the sanctions had a positive impact on the activities of the hotel, “Everyone is interested to know what kind of resort, which drew the attention of Donald Trump himself.”
Swissotel Krasnye HolmyMoscow) was able to receive the award “Best city luxury hotel” and “Best high-rise panoramic restaurant”. The hotel earned World Travel Awards in various categories in 2008, 2011, 2012.
St. Petersburg has earned the title of an attractive cultural and tourist destination. Competitors St. Petersburg were Beijing, London, New York, Paris, Quito, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Sydney and Venice. Aeroflot received the award in the nominations “Best Air Brand” and “Best Business Class”.
