Mexican President Tries to Play Boeing 787 in Lottery
Avianews reports that the President Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is going to play in the lottery the government Boeing 787, which was used by his predecessor.
6 million tickets will be issued at $ 25, which will raise $ 150 million. The winner of the lottery, if his financial condition does not allow to operate the aircraft, will be paid for its annual maintenance.
The new head of Mexico, who prefers flights to regular planes, is not the first time trying to get rid of the airliner.
Boeing 787 tried to sell in the United States for $ 130 million, but returned to Mexico because the buyer was not found, and the state was forced to pay $ 1.5 million for the maintenance of the ship.
The long-haul aircraft in a special configuration was ordered by the previous President of Mexico. The plane has a presidential apartment, a bathroom, and the cabin can accommodate 80 people.
How could a presidential Boeing 787 be used other than a lottery draw? Exchange for medical equipment from the United States, rent out on an hourly basis, sell to businessmen.
