Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on issuing tourist visas for six months without the principle of reciprocity
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a law extending the right to obtain a six-month tourist visa to all foreign citizens, regardless of the policy of their countries towards Russian tourists.
The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The law allows the issuance of ordinary tourist visas for up to six months for citizens of all countries, regardless of the “principle of reciprocity” – the presence of a similar policy of these countries in relation to tourists from the Russian Federation.
According to the previous procedure, foreigners received a tourist visa for up to 1 month or six months on the basis of the principle of reciprocity.
The document provides for the possibility of replacing the confirmation of admission required for obtaining a visa by an organization from the unified federal register of tour operators with a confirmation of hotel reservation.
The bill was approved by the Federation Council on May 19.
