Russian President Vladimir Putin calls for active use of opportunities for domestic tourism development
On December 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects called for the use of opportunities for the development of domestic tourism in Russia, which was given by the coronavirus pandemic.
The meeting participants discussed the implementation of the national project “Tourism and the hospitality industry”.
The President noted that significant funds were allocated to the authorized capital of the Tourism of the Russian Federation Corporation.
In general, we have 83.1% execution in this area, but significant money was spent not on real work, not on infrastructure construction, construction of facilities, but on contributions to the authorized capital of the Tourism of the Russian Federation Corporation. And the main work was completed only by 51%, the head of state commented.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the money invested in “Tourism of the Russian Federation” will be returned as the projects are launched, and then the funds will go to other projects, which will bring “the greatest effect for our tourists.”
