Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced a visa-free regime with China
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing a temporary procedure for entering and leaving Russia for citizens of the People’s Republic of China.
The document introduces a visa-free regime between the two countries, which will be valid until September 14, 2026.
According to the decree, Chinese citizens will be able to visit Russia without a visa for up to 30 days for the purpose of a guest, business or tourist visit, as well as to participate in scientific, cultural, sports events and other events. The visa-free procedure also applies to transit trips through the territory of the Russian Federation. For entry, a normal passport of a citizen of the PRC is enough.
From September 15, 2025, the authoritiesPRCintroduced a visa-free regime for citizens of the Russian Federation holding an ordinary foreign passport for up to 30 days.
