Sales of foreign tours fell by 70%, in Russia – twice
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reports: According to the aggregated data of tour operators, which were studied by the Analytical Service of ATOR, the volume of bookings of package tours abroad decreased by 3.5 times, tours in Russia - by 2 times. This is the same as it was at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic two years ago.
Russians now mostly book to shallow depth, summer sales due to general uncertainty stood even in open countries.
ATOR informs that tourists cancel tours to open foreign destinations inactively and mainly for the nearest dates. Confidence to tourists added the statement of the Federal Tourism Agency for Turkey and Egypt, the authorities of which do not plan to impose a ban on the entry of Russians.
In the segment of domestic tourism, sales for the week from tour operators fell to 50%. The main drop was in March and April, but summer tours were also affected.
Cancellations of tours to domestic resorts now affect the nearest dates and almost only in regions with closed airports.
