The Imperial Route Project: Which Regions Are Part of It?

The Governor of the Tula region Alexey Dyumin said that the region became the curator of the project "Imperial route" for the next two years.

The Tula Arms Plant and a number of historical sites in the region will be included in new tourist routes as part of the implementation of the historical and cultural project "Imperial Route".

“Our region has a great cultural and historical heritage. There are memorable places associated with the Romanov dynasty. In particular, with the name of Peter I. Thanks to him, the Imperial Arms Factory appeared in Tula, which has been operating for more than three centuries. We will do everything to ensure that the project is successfully developed. Our common task is to preserve the history of the Fatherland for future generations, Dyumin said.

Anna Gromova, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Elisavetinsk-Sergievsk Enlightenment Society Foundation, said that 22 Russian regions, more than 120 museums, including foreign ones, are taking part in the project.

“The development of regions in the field of tourism and historical education is directly related to the Imperial Route project,” Gromova said.

Federal historical and cultural tourism project "Imperial Route" unites places of memory of representatives of the imperial family, places of their visits, stay and pilgrimages, palaces and residences, estates and economy, as well as cultural and historical objects related to the state, social and charitable activities of representatives of the Imperial House of Romanov.

The regions participating in the project create interregional cultural and educational tours lasting from 3 to 7 days. Under the scientific leadership of the Foundation "Elizavetinsk-Sergievsk Enlightenment Society" on the "Imperial Route" museum clusters are formed, which include existing museums with thematic expositions, and new exhibition objects are created.

In 2021, the Tula region became the project coordinator region, as it took the baton from the Kaluga region.
