Forecast for New Year travel of Russians
About 10 million Russians will celebrate the New Year not at home. This was announced on November 5 by an expert of the PCT, a member of the Committee of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) on domestic tourism Sergey Romashkin during a press conference at the press center of the Izvestia MIC.
“We expect that out of the house this year will meet the New Year about 10 million tourists, and this is 3-4% more than a year ago — at the turn of 2024-2025,” he said.
Before the New Year, 40% of tourists go on trips, the remaining 60% - after, starting from January 2-3.
Due to long weekends, the average duration of rest that Russians choose is 5-6 days. He suggested that long trips were not planned to save money.
According to him, at the moment, 60% of Russians have decided on plans. It is expected that 700-800,000 out of 10 million citizens will give preference to ski resorts.
