Travelers from Russia invited to rest in Syria

Riyad Haddad also noted that there are working facilities in Syria, because there are still tourists in the country. According to the ambassador, most of the tourists go to the regions on the Mediterranean coast, where the situation is better than in other places.

 

It is not yet known when tourists from Russia will be able to safely go on vacation to Syria, and whether it will be possible to do this because of the fighting. But the Syrian authorities in March announced the launch of an advertising campaign in Russian, which is designed to attract tourists from our country.

 

Before the beginning of martial law, most tourist sites on the sea coast in Syria were located in the territory of Latakia province. The main seaside resort until 2011 was considered Shatt al-Azraq, and the state was developed ski vacation. Tourists were attracted by historical monuments, for example, the ancient part of the capital of Damascus, the archaeological monuments of Palmyra, the ancient part of the cities of Bosra and Aleppo with monuments of different eras, which were badly damaged during the hostilities.
