Moscow-Cairo flights open from 1 February

Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 4 signed a decree on the restoration of air communication with Egypt. Meanwhile, in the second paragraph of the document, which concerns restrictions on the sale of tours, it is written: “Refrain from selling to citizens a tourist product that provides for air transportation (including commercial) of citizens from the territory of the Russian Federation to the territory of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the exception of Cairo.”
Consequently, an edited version of the decree on the “closure of Egypt” dated November 8, 2015 No. 553 “On certain measures to ensure the national security of the Russian Federation and protect citizens of the Russian Federation from criminal and other illegal actions” was received. It is noted that the ban on transportation remains “except for regular air transportation to Cairo”.
The second paragraph of the decree of 2015 was amended, it contains a recommendation to the participants of the tourist market for the duration of the ban not to sell vouchers to Egypt.
The Egyptian side says it is possible to guarantee transfers from the capital to seaside resorts and provide two routes. Tourist package on regular flights Moscow – Cairo will cost $ 650, said Mostafa Helil, deputy head of the Union of tourist chambers of Egypt.

A charter flight from Cairo to the resorts of the Red Sea will add about 12 thousand rubles to the cost of the trip. Such tours can be on sale in January-February of this year.
