Restaurant in Madrid refused to serve Russian guests because of nationality

Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) at the press conference "Tourist preferences of Russians for May holidays" discussed the situation in Madrid (Spain). In Sagardi restaurant, the owner decided not to hold a party for Russian-speaking residents, the reason is the nationality of potential guests.

Anastasia Samotorova, the organizer of the party, noted on the page "Good morning, Madrid!" that she was denied a reservation because of her nationality, saying that "people of Russian origin are not welcome." As a result, Anastasia wrote a statement to the police. The second party to the conflict, Michel López de Vinjaspre, owner of a group of Basque restaurants, said the restaurant could not accept the party because of the "format of the establishment." He also called A. Samotorova with an apology.

Maya Lomidze noted that “This is a special case. Let me remind you that long before any sanctions in Austria there were cases when hotels did not want to settle Russian citizens. But there are many inadequate people in each country, and if you focus on them, then half the world can be sued, the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia said.
