Russian travelers will receive Schengen visas for 5 years
This year, Russian tourists who travel very often will be able to get a five-year Schengen.
This was stated by Francesco Forte, Consul General of Italy in Russia.
He recalled that from 2020, new rules for issuing Schengen visas begin to apply, and visas are introduced for a year, two and five years. Visas for three and four years will not be issued.
States will issue Schengen under the same rules: five-year will receive travelers who received and used the rules of the previous, two-year visa.
According to my estimates, Russian tourists, primarily from Moscow, who often travel to Europe, will be able to get a five-year Schengen in 2020.
The Consul General of Italy said that in 2019, the Italian Consulate in Moscow issued about 470,000 visas to Russians, and about 680,000 tourists from Russia visited Italy.
