The Russian island sailed to the coast of Estonia

In the Narva reservoir there was an increase in the water level, as a result of which, a floating island of 4 hectares with an area began to move towards Estonia. There is a dense forest on the island.

This phenomenon is not uncommon for the reservoir. However, floating islands usually have a small area and come back. For the first time, the island of such an area separated from the Russian coast and headed towards Estonia.

Border guards noticed the island about a month ago, the border of the island has already swam, at the moment it is stranded, but may begin to move.

The Estonian side fears that the “fugitive” can destroy buildings on the shore, so they continue to monitor the “walker”.
