Russia and the United States reduced the consular fee for issuing a visa

From January 1, 2013, Russian consular offices will charge US citizens $160 in consular fees instead of $180. The U.S. State Department will respond in kind.

On the Russian side, the reduction of the consular fee will affect business, private, humanitarian and tourist visas, and the United States will reduce the consular fee for issuing B1/B2 visas (business and tourist trips).

Recall that in August 2012, the US consulate unilaterally reduced the cost of B1/B2 visas from $100 to $20, but the consular fee then remained at the same level - $ 160.
