Russia awaits prompt decision on mutual recognition of COVID certificates with EU

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper that Russia expects a prompt and depoliticized search for a solution to the issue of mutual recognition of COVID certificates with the European Union.

In his opinion, “everyone should be interested in ensuring that citizens of the Russian Federation and the EU were not subject to additional burdens during mutual trips...”

“I would not like to see a political moment in this process, as it is seen in the history associated with the certification of vaccines themselves, where the factor of political inhibition, unfortunately, plays an obvious negative role on the part of the EU,” Grushko said.
