Russians are considered bores

Social network Badoo.com has compiled a ranking of countries where people with the worst sense of humor live. During the study, more than 30 thousand people were interviewed in 15 countries of the world, Utro.ru writes.

The leader of the sad hit parade recognized Germany. The survey participants agreed with the stereotype that the Germans are focused on rationality and efficiency, but are not strong in humor.

Lloyd Price, a spokesman for Badoo.com, said: Germans are brilliant at some things, including making cars and beating us at football. But, unfortunately, jokes are not their strong trait. If there was a World Humour Cup, we would have a lot of chances against them.

In May 2007, the German magazine Spiegel reported that the British pictured the typical German as an "extremely hard-working but extremely boring engineer." However, defenders of German humor insist that this stereotype is unfair: foreigners simply do not understand many national jokes, as they are not easily translated into another language.

The Russians placed on the second place among the bores, however, why, the researchers did not specify. Meanwhile, as Russian satirists say, although our humor allows us to joke on any topic, it is still humor of thought, not position. It can only be understood by being Russian.

After us, in the sad rating are the residents of Turkey, who were also considered incapable of witty jokes. By the way, Lloyd Price, with his skepticism towards the Germans, left not far. In the UK, the survey participants took fourth place. Respondents felt that the people of this country do not know how to joke because they are too restless and focused on themselves. It is worth noting that the inhabitants of the United Kingdom have always been considered the owners of a kind of humor. Slightly higher survey participants rated the jokes of Americans, Poles, Belgians, Dutch and Canadians.

Research on the national sense of humor is not the first time. In 2007, a survey designed to determine the most cheerful nation, it was found that even the citizens of the country do not laugh at German jokes. The British were considered the most witty.
