Russians have access to ferry service between Turkey and Greece

After a two-year break, Russians vacationing in Turkey have the opportunity to go by ferry to the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.

Authorities have allowed the resumption of regular sea passenger traffic interrupted by the pandemic.

From 7 February, ships can call at the Greek ports of Kavala, Lesbos, Chios, Wafi and Pythagoreyo, Samos, Mirina, Lemnos, Simi, Rock, Patmos, Mace, Kos and Rhodes.

Travelers traveling by sea between the two countries, regardless of nationality and vaccination status of tourists, need a negative PCR result no older than 72 hours or an express test.

Since February 7, 2022, Greece has allowed entry to citizens of all countries, regardless of their vaccination status.

Before the pandemic, ferries from Turkey on the Greek islands received a simplified short-stay visa for 35 euros. It did not give the right to visit the mainland and other Schengen countries.

Russians who want to go from Marmaris or Bodrum by ferry to Greece need a passport, a test result and 35 euros for an “island” visa (if there is no Schengen), which will be delivered directly in the Greek port.
