Russians told why they are going on a road trip
According to a study by the analytical center of the National Agency for Financial Research (NAFI), more than a third of Russians (38%) plan to go on a road trip in the summer of 2025.
Respondents described their preferences for the purpose of the trip. The most popular goal is to walk and explore another city or area (37%). This option is more often chosen by women (40% vs. 33% of men).
In second place is beach holiday (16%), which is especially attractive for people aged 25-34 years (21%), residents of the North Caucasus Federal District (26%) and Russians with children (19%).
The third position is occupied by trips to health resorts (13%) and the study of architecture and history of various regions (13%). Fishing and hunting (11%) were slightly less popular, especially among men and in the 35-44 age group.
General Director of the Analytical Center of NAFI, Guzeliya Imaeva, noted that the growth of interest in motor travel is due not only to savings on transport, but also to the desire of Russians for individual and conscious rest. It is also a signal for the tourism industry to develop infrastructure along highways, including quality services, health and cultural attractions, and convenient digital solutions. She added that tour operators should offer targeted support formats, such as routes with a flexible program and the possibility of partial organization through platforms.
