RossTour announces termination of tour operator activity

The company "RossTour", through which travel agencies bought vouchers of other tour operators for their customers, informed Rostourism and partners about the suspension of tour operators from October 15.

 

In the message of the booking center, it is reported that tourists who have booked and paid for a tourist product are insured with an insurance company in the amount of 50 million rubles and have the right to count on insurance compensation.

 

Earlier, experts in the field of tourism said that RossTour can completely leave the market in a week as a tour operator and travel agent.

 

The company tried unsuccessfully to find partners who could help resolve the catastrophic situation. The deal with the network “Shop of burning vouchers”, which refused to invest personal funds in support of the business of “RossTour”, was categorically accepted by the agencies themselves.

 

In early October, three major tourist operators suspended cooperation with RossTour: Pegasus Touristik, Coral Travel and Sunmar. Later, "Intourist" was added to them. The reason: non-compliance with the terms of payments for vouchers of RossTur customers. The exact number of tourists affected in this situation is not clear until now. The head of the company Alexander Nedopolz was going to publish the information until October 19.

 

According to the Russian Union of Travel Industry, the exact figure may be about 10 thousand people, and the total amount of debt to operators will exceed 200 million rubles.
