Rosturizm intends to form a national network of brand routes

Rostourism creates a national network of branded routes of different duration, and will also develop tourism on the basis of beautiful villages and small towns.

Minister Zarina Doguzova is confident that both these tools will be used to develop ethno-cultural tourism in Russia and increase its share in the total volume of trips.

We have started to create a national network of branded routes of different durations, including with an ethno-cultural component, in which everything is thought out for the tourist – access to information, thoughtful logistics along the whole way, from rest stops to delicious food and sanitary areas. Of course, these are accommodation facilities, in the architecture of which we will try to take into account the cultural code of a particular territory. Each route should have a bright brand, an idea that is revealed throughout the route, Zarina Doguzova said at a meeting of the Council on Interethnic Relations.

The second important project of Rostourism is to attract tourists to beautiful villages and small towns, where infrastructure needs to be developed.

“We have hundreds of beautiful villages, and it is a space of vibrant culture where nothing needs to be recreated. There are traditions, the life of the population. On the basis of this, you can create attractive tourist products. From the point of view of infrastructure, problems are typical everywhere – they can be quickly and relatively inexpensively solved. This is the absence of sanitary groups, parking of tourist buses, navigation, audio guides, information centers for tourists, accommodation facilities. These are simple basic things, but they tend to be lacking and that makes our travel destinations often uncompetitive.”

According to Z. Doguzova, in 2020 Rosturizm for the first time allocated grants to small entrepreneurs implementing projects to create tourist infrastructure.
