Rosturizm: about visa-free features of travel to Turkey
The visa regime between Russia and Turkey has been canceled, but other documents may be needed to enter the country and reside, Rosturizm reports.
The intergovernmental agreement, which entered into force on April 16, provides for the right of holders of general passports to enter Turkey without a visa for a period of not more than 30 days. The number of such visits is not limited, but the total stay in the country should not exceed 90 days during the half-year starting from the date of first entry under such a regime.
For travel for the purpose of study and work (for a period of more than 30 days), you need to obtain a visa, and not in the form of a stamp at the airport, but first contacting the Embassy or Consulate of Turkey (including St. Petersburg).
“Travelers with tourist purposes are strictly forbidden to engage in labor activity – serious monetary fines are applied to violators with subsequent deportation and a ban on entering Turkey for up to five years,” the Federal Tourism Service warns.
In Rosturizm also remind that most tourists are not required any additional evidence or documents (vouchers, confirmation of hotel reservation, insurance, etc.).
In addition, officials "strongly recommend" tourists to carry a flash card with scanned personal documents recorded on it, as well as several photos of the 4*5 cm format - the loss or theft of documents in Turkey is not uncommon, although it is mainly due to the inattention and negligence of their owners. In this case, it is necessary to immediately contact the nearest police station and require the preparation of an appropriate protocol. Then it should be translated into Russian and certified with an apostille (the lost documents must pay for these services). To obtain a temporary certificate, the Russian consulate must also submit a document (passport of a Russian citizen or driver's license). In their absence, they will have to search.
