Rosturizm soon intends to publish a black list of hotels that raised prices for the duration of the world Cup. The head of Rostourism Oleg Safonov explains that they will rely on the search methods adopted at the time when Turkey was closed.

Foreign market players are even looking for tours to the championships without living in Russia.
“There is a government regulation on the marginal cost of hotel services. We are working together with the Federal Antimonopoly Service and Rospotrebnadzor.”
On February 22, Rospotrebnadzor will launch a hotline where you can complain about the unfair rise in prices.
Oleg Safonov believes that the hotel business of the cities - "beginners" in terms of hosting major sports events considered that the 2018 World Cup would be an excellent pretext for profit - prices were unreasonably inflated.
For example, Volgograd on the days of the match (21-23 June) offers a price for a hostel for two nights at 12.8 thousand rubles, and for overnight stays in hotels 2 * - from 62 to 150 thousand rubles. In Yekaterinburg on the day of the match hostels give a price of 30 thousand rubles, apartments in 50 thousand. The cities that have already become hosts of major competitions - Kazan and Sochi - react more calmly to price changes.
Hotels additionally present their requirements to tour operators. For example: booking for 4-5 nights, 100% prepayment, 100% penalties for cancellation.
For the period of the World Cup, state regulation of the cost of accommodation facilities should begin. Hoteliers try to bypass it in different ways, for example, adding food to the price, transfer, etc.
