Russian inscriptions on the walls of the Vatican

Recently, the Vatican and Pope Benedict XVI himself became agitated when they found the inscription “in an unknown language” on the walls of Santa Scala Cathedral. One Italian newspaper, determined to clarify the situation, stated that some vandal in his “message” obscenely called the Pope. Gianni Alemanno, the mayor of Rome, expressed solidarity with the pontiff on behalf of the residents of the city. And the papal vicar, Cardinal Agostino Vallini, severely criticized such attacks on Benedict XVI. But after the photos of the crime scene appeared, it turned out that the inscription was made in Russian and meant “I love you, Vera” and was signed in Latin with “Vania”. Now there is only one mystery, whether the message of Ivan reached his beloved.
