From today, April 15, tickets for international flights fell by 10%
Travel tickets for international flights on Wednesday night became cheaper by 10.4%. This was reported by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Since April 15, IATA will recalculate the exchange rate of foreign currencies, which significantly affected the price of air tickets for international flights. Recently, the ruble has strengthened against the euro and the dollar, in particular, the dollar fell by 8% to 52.5 rubles, and the euro - even more than 10% - to 56 rubles. In connection with the fall in the exchange rate, there is an adjustment of air ticket fares, most of which are nominated in euros on the Russian market.
As explained by the Vice-President of ATOR Dmitry Gorin, the adjustment is made according to the principle: the official euro rate set by the Central Bank on Tuesday, plus 50 kopecks. “From Wednesday, the euro rate in the calculation will be 56 rubles. A week ago, the prices for tickets for international flights were set on the basis that the euro cost 62.5 rubles. Since in Russia for international flights tickets are nominated mainly in euros, we can say that they fell by more than 10%, said Mr. Gorin.
