The tallest statue of Christ in the world
In western Poland, a ceremony was recently held to unveil and light the statue of Jesus Christ, which has become the largest in the world. The monument was erected on the outskirts of the small town of Svebodzin. It is noteworthy that the height of the statue is 33 meters, symbolizing the age of Christ, whose head is crowned with a three-meter gilded crown. It was decided to place the statue on a hill whose height reaches seventeen meters. According to the plan of the architects, Jesus should be visible from a distance of 40 kilometers. The hands of Christ in Poland, like those of his predecessor in Brazil, are outstretched. The total weight of the statue reaches 440 tons. The steel base of the structure is covered with concrete at the bottom and polyester at the top, which is lighter. Almost 20,000 pilgrims gathered from all over Poland for the opening ceremony. The city authorities, together with its residents, hope that with the advent of the Savior, tourists will begin to actively come to the city, which is already jokingly called Svebodzineiro.
