The most-most: known top tourist attractiveness of Russian regions in 2021
The publication about domestic and inbound tourism "Recreation in Russia" and the center of information communications "Rating" made the seventh annual rating of tourist attractiveness of Russian regions.
The evaluation criteria are the number of accommodation facilities and tourists accommodated in them, the contribution of tourism to GRP.
The rating was headed by the Krasnodar Territory, in second place - the Moscow Region, in third - Moscow.
The top 10 included (in descending order) Crimea, St. Petersburg, Primorsky Krai, Altai Krai, Republic of Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod region, Samara region.
In the second ten – Stavropol Territory, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Novosibirsk region, Chelyabinsk region, Irkutsk region, Sverdlovsk region, Tyumen region, Rostov region, Kaliningrad region, Sakhalin region.
The compilers of the rating ranked the regions in 9 positions:
- The level of development of the tourism industry and hotel infrastructure, including the number of accommodation facilities, catering establishments and travel agencies.
- Profitability of tourism and hospitality, including the income of collective accommodation facilities and the volume of paid tourist services to the population.
- The development of the sanatorium and resort industry of the region was estimated by the number of citizens who rested in sanatoriums and the volume of paid services provided to them.
- The number of Russian citizens accommodated in collective accommodation facilities, and the number of overnight stays in such facilities.
- Number of foreign tourists staying in hotels in the region.
- The number of objects of cultural heritage included in the state register.
- The level of crime in the subjects was estimated by the number of crimes committed per 100 thousand population.
- The authors of the rating took into account the number of queries in search engines about rest in the region and the activity of the region in the information space.
Rosturizm reports that in 2021, Russians made 56 million tourist trips around the country - the domestic tourist flow recovered by 90% compared to the period before the coronavirus pandemic.
There are regions where the indicators of 2021 even surpassed pre-pandemic ones: Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Altai, Kamchatka, Kaliningrad region, Karelia, Sakhalin, Murmansk region, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and some other subjects.
