St. Petersburg recognized as the best city for business trips

St. Petersburg Winner of the prestigious international award in the field of business tourism Business Traveler Awards. The award ceremony was held on February 28 in Moscow.

The nominees are well-known international brands and regional companies of Russia, CIS countries, and neighboring countries.

“Petersburg deservedly received the prestigious international award. The number of business events is growing every year. Last year, they were 10 percent more – 415, said E. Pankevich, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg.

“2020 has been declared the Year of Business Tourism for the tourism industry,” Pankiewicz added.

In 2019, 1.1 million business tourists visited St. Petersburg.

In 2019, 4.75 million EU citizens came to Russia, 41.5 thousand more than in 2018. Business visit (more than 2 million people - the most frequent purpose of trips), tourist purposes - about 1.5 million, for private purposes - 725 thousand Europeans.
