Russia promises to open Egypt to Russians in near future

Chairman of the Federation Council Committee Konstantin Kosachev at a meeting with the Ambassador Egypt Ihabom Nasrom made a loud statement that flights to the resorts of Egypt can start in the near future. The official stressed that the Arab state has adopted “extensive security measures”.

Flights on the Moscow Cairo route have already been restored. On other popular routes, it is close to restoring them in full to the mutual interest of the parties, Kosachev said.

To the statement of Senator Kosachev, at least, you can listen: the politician is close to law enforcement agencies, therefore, he may have information about the processes taking place behind the scenes.

On the other hand, according to experts, you should not look for any sensation in the words of Mr. Kosachev: the senator did not voice specific dates anyway.

“The information background is such that the market already understands that the return of flights to the resorts of Egypt is not far off. There is optimism that this will happen this year. So in this case, the concept of “soon” or “close” is already perceived as “this year”.

“The summer season is approaching, and the issue of charters to Egypt is no longer as acute as in winter. However, the return of charter flights to Egyptian resorts this spring would have significantly supported the market in April and especially for the May holidays, the source said.

This week, a group of Russian aviation security experts is due to go to Egypt with a new check. The inspection was scheduled in the schedule of the Ministry of transport.

Last weekend, the summit of the League of Arab States and EU countries took place in the Sinai Peninsula: the heads of government of 27 European countries, including British Prime Minister Theresa May, attended this event. According to British media, May was going after a visit to Sharm el-Sheikh to review the ban on flights between the UK and the Red Sea resort.

Experts in Britain believe that there is a chance for a quick return of the UK to the Red Sea resort. Britain’s exit from the EU has made vacations more expensive for Britons in European resorts, and the British government may return Sharm el-Sheikh to the map of mass tourism by the summer as a “compensation”.
