How many Russians stayed in Turkey in 2021?
Russian Ambassador Alexei Yerkhov said that in Turkey in the outgoing year rested almost five million Russians.
“This is almost twice as much as last year,” he told reporters, adding that the total number of foreign tourists in Turkey was nine million.
The diplomat said that Russians are most attracted to the provinces in southern Turkey, where tourist infrastructure is well developed.
From July to September, up to 150 flights a day from 40 Russian regions flew to the country, Alexei Yerkhov added.
"In the main tourist months, August and September, there was a peak flow: one million Russians a month," the diplomat said.
