How much money does the ecotourism industry need?
Almost a billion rubles are required for the creation of tourist infrastructure in Russian national parks and reserves.
This measure will allow in 2023 to increase the number of visitors from 10.6 to 13.2 million.
The Ministry of Nature reports that the money is needed for the arrangement of ecotropes, car parks, sanitary places and recreation areas. Year by year, the number of ecotourists is growing, their flow should be managed and not harm nature, said the head of the Ministry Alexander Kozlov.
The state Duma in the second reading will consider the bill on recreation in specially protected natural areas. The adoption of the document will introduce the concept of ecotourism into the legal field and create conditions for its development.
The project introduces the concept of ecotourism, which is currently absent there, and regulates this type of recreation. For each protected area, a recreational capacity will be identified - the maximum number of tourists who can visit it without harming nature.
The adoption of the document will allow to organize routes for tourists in protected areas, parking for recreation, to make tourism civilized and as safe as possible for the environment.
Now 75% of the tourist flow falls on only a few national parks. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that specially protected natural areas, which occupy 13.5% of the area of our state, is a unique, unparalleled place of attraction for tourists. The development of ecotourism should ensure a balance between the economy and the preservation of natural heritage.
