How many tourists are ready to get vaccinated for travel?
The website of the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) conducted a survey of Russians devoted to tourism in the conditions of QR codes.
Almost 75% of tourists can refuse flights and tours if QR codes become mandatory. Only 4% of respondents are ready to be vaccinated for travel.
Most travelers are willing to cancel plans and refuse to travel and buy air and rail tickets if this requires a QR code and there is no alternative in the form of a negative PCR test. They reformat their vacation so that they don’t run into QR codes.
Tourists were asked how they would behave if (according to bills 17357-8 and 17358-8), boarding domestic and international flights, as well as checking in hotels, were possible with a QR code of a vaccinated or ill person, and the result of PCR tests would not be accepted.
Only 4% of respondents are ready to be vaccinated or revaccinated for travel, 12% have recently been vaccinated or have been ill (and probably the validity of their certificate allows them to plan travel in 2022).
74% of respondents of the ATOR survey chose the answer: “I will refuse to buy tours / tickets on such terms”, 10% prefer to postpone plans until the second half of 2022 or “until the cancellation of QR codes”
Tourists who do not want to face restrictions on transport and when settling in hotels, spoke in favor of rest without QR codes: trips to the country, hiking, traveling by car, living in the private sector, etc.
The introduction of QR codes has become a serious irritant for a huge part of society, including for actively traveling tourists.
In reality, the percentage of people who refuse to take a vacation because they cannot provide a PCR test instead of a QR code may be lower. However, according to market participants, the number of people who will not go anywhere under the new conditions will be significant.
