Slovakia eases anticoronavirus measures

Slovak authorities are easing restrictions designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, as the wave of the pandemic in the country has declined.

The Associated Press reports that curfews will be lifted from Monday, allowing bars and restaurants to operate without time limits. However, only citizens who have received both doses of the vaccine or recently contracted the coronavirus will be able to visit bars, restaurants, hotels, ski resorts, religious services and non-essential goods stores.

Primary and secondary schools have opened, but students are required to wear masks during school hours.

Restrictions on public events have been partially lifted. Organizers of sports events and concerts will be able to fill up to 50% of the capacity of the venue.

Weddings, discos and parties are allowed, but no more than 20 people can attend each event. All these activities will be open only to citizens vaccinated or ill with coronavirus.

Over Sunday, about 2.1 thousand new cases of coronavirus were detected in the country. Before that, since the fourth of January, more than 3 thousand cases were recorded daily in the country.
