You can rent a room in an Italian hotel with a retro postcard or a sheep
On November 18, the National Barter Week started in Italy. It will last until November 24.
Hotel owners post their wishes on the website en.settimanadelbaratto.it, and guests who want to save money tell what they can offer instead of money for a room.
Many B&B hotels ask for food, books and smartphones. Others demand more original things: items related to Disney characters and the seven dwarves, a gramophone, beekeeping items, Coca-Cola posters, tricycles or skateboards, ponies or sheep.
The offers of tourists are also diverse: psychologists offer their advice, businessmen - tips on a successful hotel business or opening a site, garden owners - any advice on garden equipment.
The idea for the barter initiative began six years ago: a similar exchange helps small hotels and guesthouses in Italy during the economic crisis.
