Save the China Wall
A program to restore and protect one of the most ancient sections of the Great Wall has finally begun in Beijing. The section, created between 770 and 476 BC, was carefully studied by researchers for seven months. This section (it is called the Great Wall of the Qi Kingdom) connects the center of the province of Shandong – Jinan and the city in the east of Shandong – Qingdao, stretching for 620 kilometers. In ancient times, local residents caused serious damage to the Qi Wall by constant attacks, so scientists decided to preserve it. One way would be for regional authorities to punish vandals in accordance with the law. These studies were part of an extensive project to study the Great Wall. To protect the architectural and historical heritage, it is necessary to know as much as possible about it. UNESCO has protected the Great Wall since 1987.
