Top of the most visited national parks and reserves of Russia

FGBI "Information and Analytical Center for Conservation Support" of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia prepared the top of the most visited national parks and reserves of the Russian Federation.

In 2018, only the most popular national parks and reserves of Russia were visited by 7,332,531 tourists from Russia and other countries.

For comparison, this is more than, for example, the number of our compatriots who go to Turkish resorts or the Crimean peninsula every year.

1. National Park "Samarska Luka"

Number of visitors for 2018: 2,597,650 people.
The territory of the Volga, Stavropol, Syzran administrative districts of the Samara region, partly in the city limits of Zhigulevsk and Samara.
Area: 1339 sq km. (134,000 hectares)

2. National Park "Kislovodsky"

Number of visitors for 2018: 1,389,000.
Stavropol Territory, the city of Kislovodsk.
Area: 9.6 sq km (965.8 ha)

3. Sochi National Park

Number of visitors for 2018: 1,193,367.
On the territory of Adler, Khostinsky and Lazarevsky districts of the Krasnodar Territory, the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, the Black Sea coast.
Area: 1913 square kilometers (191.3 thousand hectares).

4. State Reserve "Pillars"

Number of visitors for 2018: 754,220.
Krasnoyarsk Krai, northwestern spurs of Eastern Sayan.
Area: 472.2 sq km (47,219 ha)

5. National Park "Kurish Kosa"
Number of visitors for 2018: 471,666.
Part of the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Gulf. The north of the park borders Lithuania.
Area: 66.2 sq km (6,621 ha)

6. National Park of the Swan Lake

Number of visitors for 2018: 250,500 people.
130 km northeast of Moscow in the Yaroslavl region, the Golden Ring route.
Area: 241.5 sq km (24149.11 ha)

7. Caucasian State Reserve
Number of visitors for 2018: 250,463 people.
Krasnodar Territory, Republic of Adygea, Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
The area is 28033, 5 square kilometers.

8. National Park "Prielbrusie"

Number of visitors for 2018: 158,277
Elbrus and Zolsky districts of Kabardino-Balkaria. Border with Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Stavropol Territory. In the south, the border of the park coincides with the state border between Russia and Georgia.
Area: 1012 sq. km. (101.02 thousand hectares)

9. Natural Reserve "Kivach"

Number of visitors for 2018: 139,000
Where: Republic of Karelia, Kondopozhsky district
Area: 110 sq km (10,930 ha). Together with the "buffer zone" around the reserve - 175 square kilometers (17,462.6 hectares).

10. TAGANAI National Park

Number of visitors for 2018: 128,388
Where: Chelyabinsk region, Zlatoust
Area: 568.43 square kilometers (568 thousand hectares).
