Compiled top popular cities of the Russian Federation among Russians
Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi received the highest places among the best megacities of the Russian Federation among travelers in Russia in 2017.
According to the analytical agency Turstat, the number of domestic tourists who travel to Russia in 2017 increased to 56.5 million, which is 3% more than in 2016.
The top 10 most popular cities include Moscow (21.6 million travelers in 2017), St. Petersburg (7.5 million), Sochi (6 million), Vladivostok (3 million), Kazan (2.7 million), Yekaterinburg (2 million), Astrakhan (2 million), Nizhny Novgorod (1.9 million), Sergiev Posad (1.9 million) and Suzdal (1.7 million).
Prior to this study, the Krasnodar Territory, Moscow and the Moscow region became leaders of the National Tourist Rating of Russian Regions last year, which was prepared by the Rating Information Communication Center and the Rest in Russia publication.
