Hermitage staff stood up to protect the museum parquet

To protect the parquet in the Hermitage, from now on all visitors with hairpins will be offered to wear special nozzles on their heels, instead of felt slippers. The management of the museum concluded that such nozzles on heels will eventually cost much cheaper than regular repair of priceless parquet floors. Disposable museum shoes of the new generation were developed by students of the Mukhinsky School in St. Petersburg. So far, employees of the Hermitage have ordered the first batch of heels - five hundred copies. They are made of isolate used in construction, as well as in the production of carpets. To reduce costs, the nozzles after use will be sent for recycling directly from the containers, where they will be thrown by visitors. If this innovation takes root, then such protection of parquet will be used everywhere.
