Experts have announced information about the dirtiest objects in airports

The British tabloid The Sun published information about the dirtiest items at airports.

It turned out that they were plastic boxes that are needed for carrying hand luggage during the pre-flight inspection.

According to experts on the pandemic from the University of Nottingham, who explored the airport Vantaa in Helsinki, these boxes found the highest concentration of viruses, including colds and flu.

The surface of payment terminals in stores, passport checkpoints and children's playrooms are literally littered with pathogenic bacteria. Interestingly, almost no viruses were found on surfaces in the toilets.

Niina Ikonen, a virologist at the Finnish National Institute of Health and Welfare, said the presence of microbes at airports had not been studied before.

The findings could help control the spread of serious infectious diseases.
