68 years later
On January 26, on the outskirts of the city of Surovikino in the Volgograd region, a rally was held dedicated to the 68th anniversary of the victory of Soviet troops at Stalingrad.
It was attended by war veterans, participants of military sports clubs, local residents. Among the veterans who came to the rally was one of the main - a 13-ton combat T-34, which was raised from a 4-meter depth of the Dobray River, which was waiting for almost 70 years for its "liberation."
Presumably, the tank was part of one of the Soviet units that liberated Surovikino in December 1942. In the combat compartment, searchers among the cartridges, silt, pieces of metal found fragments of the remains of 4 tank soldiers, the guys fiercely defending the Motherland. Honor and memory!!!
The legendary "thirty-four", will be restored and sent to a place of honor in the State Historical and Memorial Museum-Reserve "Battle of Stalingrad".
Eternal memory to our grandfathers!!
