Thailand to simplify entry rules for tourists

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is preparing a plan to ease the rules for tourists entering the country.

The Bangkok Post, citing the head of TAT Yutasak Supasorna, reports that the option of abolishing the requirement for foreign travelers is being considered - to issue a Thailand Pass entry permit.

The Thailand Pass will be cancelled from July 1. It is expected that by this time, the Ministry of Health of Thailand will assign COVID-19 the status of endemic disease (not pandemic).

The tourism sector of Thailand is suffering from the aggravation of the political situation in the world. Tourist flow to the resorts decreased from Russia and Europe. Revenues from domestic tourism are also falling – rising energy prices have caused inflation in Thailand.
