Quiet tourism - where do Russians like to relax?
Tour operators noted an increase in demand for quiet tourism in Russia. In the first half of the year, the flow of tourists to cities characterized by a calm atmosphere and a favorable natural and urban environment increased. The three most popular destinations for such a holiday included Sortavala, Serpukh and RybinskThe largest increase in the number of tourists showed Zaraysk and Kirillov.
Quiet are called cities without dense buildings, tourist crowds and car noise. Such places attract those who are looking for privacy or tired of life in the metropolis - young couples, middle-aged people and pensioners.
Most travelers choose Sortavala: this city accounted for 22% of all trips to quiet cities in the first half of the year. Also demanded areas of steel Serpukh (13%), Rybinsk (12%), as well as Alexin and Shuya (10%).
Zaraysk leads in the growth of tourist traffic among quiet cities - from January to June 2025, the number of tourists here increased by 83%. This is followed by Kirillov in the Vologda region (+76%) and Alexin, located 60 kilometers from Tula (+57%). In Torzhok and Yurievets tourist flow increased by 28%, in Svetlogorsk - 26 percent. The number of travelers has also increased in Rybinsk. Plese and Gorokhovets by 20%, and in Yuryev-Polish - 15%.
