Top of the most wasteful tourists
According to a survey by the international payment system Visa, the top most profligate travelers were headed by residents of Saudi Arabia and probably in the next few years they will not leave this “post”. Travel spending is projected to increase 36 percent in the next two years.
Visa is analyzed by Global Travel Intentions (GTI) every two years. Now the rating is based on surveys of 15 thousand people from 27 countries of the world. Among the questions are what payment methods tourists prefer to use abroad and what are the final costs for tourist trips.
The first place belongs to tourists from Saudi Arabia – their expenses amounted to 5,333 dollars per trip. The top three are tourists from Kuwait $3,143 and Chinese $2,988. The top five are also Australians ($2,745) and Emirati residents ($2,722).
According to experts, in the future the five may change. Emirati travelers can give first place to US tourists willing to spend $3,500 on a single trip. And in second place will be the Chinese with an average cost of 4034 dollars. Tourists from Australia can also take third place.
The average amount tourists are willing to spend is $1,793. In the next two years, it will increase by 36.25% to $2,443.
